Fourth Grade

The major components of the Fourth Grade curriculum are Hebrew, Israel, Jewish values and Bible Stories. The students will learn and interpret the Ten Commandments and be introduced to the mitzvot of daily life and holidays. They will explore the different regions of Israel, take a “trip” to Israel and visit those regions where they will learn and sample what Israeli children do for fun, their favorite sports, what they like to eat as well as the basic geographical layout of the country. The students will read Bible stories of our ancient Prophets and community leaders and be able to apply them to personal concerns of today. In Hebrew, they will continue decoding and reading as they work toward comprehending the prayers and blessings they will recite at their Bar/Bat Mitzvah.
