Tikkun Olam – Social Action

TIKKUN OLAM

Our congregation provides its members with many opportunities for social action. Our programs benefit women’s and teen shelters, foster children and homeless veterans, the homebound and the hungry. By reaching out to people in need, we not only help to repair the world, but also strengthen our Jewish identity and provide an important example of our values for our children.

WHAT WE DO

The Social Action Committee creates awareness and fosters the development of Social Action projects that enhance the lives of needy individuals and others and the world around us, while giving Temple members the opportunity to give back and to pass this responsibility to the next generation.

Community Service Opportunities

The Social Action Committee has created an extensive listing of community service projects to be used as a resource by our B’nai Mitzvah students looking for mitzvah projects. Also, it is a resource for Temple families who may be looking for an opportunity to give time or tzedakah; even for high school students who are looking for organizations to work with as part of their community services hour requirements. If you or your family has a project that you would like included in our listing, please provide Karen Arkin with the information so that she may include your project in our listing.
