Dear Temple Dor Dorim Members:
On behalf of the Board of Trustees and the Rabbi Search Committee, we are excited to report that Rabbi Bryan Zive, has been elected to serve as our next Senior Rabbi and join our TDD Family as of July 1, 2024.
The Rabbi Search Committee unanimously recommended Rabbi Zive as our next Senior Rabbi, and our Board of Trustees and Congregation overwhelmingly and enthusiastically ratified this decision last week by a special vote.
Rabbi Zive participated in several interviews with the Rabbi Search Committee and had an opportunity to meet in person with the Rabbi Search Committee, Board of Trustees, Rabbi Norman Lipson, TDD staff, many parents associated with our ECC, Religious School and Youth Group, and the Empty Nesters, as well as the congregation at large during our Town Hall on January 3, 2024. During this process, everyone involved was beyond impressed, not only with his pastoral and musical abilities, but his vision, intellect, warmth, and ability to so easily and meaningfully connect with everyone who met him.
“Melyssa, Hayden and I are beyond excited to join the TDD family and begin our lives in Weston and with the Temple community. Your warmth, welcoming and passion for the Dor Dorim family overwhelmed us in the best of ways! I’m humbled and honored to have been elected as your next Senior Rabbi. I look forward to our Jewish journey, walking together every step of the way.” said Rabbi Zive.
Rabbi Zive has served as Associate Rabbi and Director of Congregational Music at Congregation Shir Ha-Ma’alot in Irvine, California since 2019, prior to which he was a Rabbinic Intern at the Stephen Wise Temple in Los Angeles, California. Rabbi Zive, his wife, Melyssa and son, Hayden (age 8) are excited to join our Temple family and become a part of our Weston community when they move here from California over the summer.
Thank you to everyone on the Rabbi Search Committee, who worked long hours planning, coordinating with the CCAR, and interviewing several rabbinic candidates over the last few months. We are thrilled to welcome Rabbi Zive to Temple Dor Dorim as our next Senior Rabbi. His track record and success at Congregation Shir Ha-Ma’alot, coupled with his talents aligns perfectly with our vision for the future of TDD. This is a great time to be a member of Temple Dor Dorim.
Sincerely,
Rachel DiDio, President
Stephanie Farbman and Adam Silverman, Rabbi Search Committee Co-Chairs
