The major components of the Second Grade curriculum are Torah, worship, deeds of lovingkindness, holidays and their first formal introduction to reading basic Hebrew words and more focused Hebrew Alef-Bet learning. The students will be introduced to some fundamental concepts with which Jews build their relationships with God, with one another and with the world. They will also begin learning to read the Shabbat and holiday blessings. They will learn holiday songs and create holiday art projects to learn how and why we celebrate the Jewish holidays.
