URJ Youth & College Programs

The Union for Reform Judaism (URJ) has over 900 member congregations of which Temple Dor Dorim is proudly one. For over 75 years the URJ has provided young people with immersive Jewish experiences in North America and Israel including:

  • Year-round youth group programming
  • Summer camps
  • Travel and study abroad programs in Israel
  • Social justice, advocacy and service learning programs

NFTY (North American Federation of Temple Youth) serves teens from grades 6 to 12 providing a Reform Jewish community in which to grow, learn and lead. TOUCHY and ATID, Temple Dor Dorim’s high school and middle school youth group’s respectfully, are active NFTY youth groups.

URJ Summer Camps are located throughout North America and provide amazing adventures combined with Jewish living and learning. Our “local” camp is Camp Coleman in Cleveland, Georgia. There are also URJ camps specializing in various areas including sports at URJ 6 Points Sports Academy, URJ 6 Points Science & Technology Academy and the URJ 6 Points Creative Arts Academy.

URJ Israel Programs offer a multitude of hands-on Israel experiences for 9th graders through 12th graders. With with Yallah! Israel Powered by NFTY in Israel you can choose from several specialty trips including a meaningful Poland journey, the classic Israel tour, an eco and social justice Israel experience, a trip focused on gender identity, LGBTQ+, and allyship, and a trip through the lens of science and technology. Want an longer experience, study in high school with a semester with Israel as the classroom with URJ Heller High.
Looking for a Jewish Gap Year in Israel? Shnat Netzer is Netzer Olami (global Reform and Progressive Jewish youth movement of which NFTY is a part) flagship gap year program, operating for more than two decades for hundreds of participants from the UK, Australia, North America, Europe, Latin America, the Former Soviet Union and more.

Social Justice and Action Programs through the URJ take the Jewish values we hold dear and transform them into action that can be felt locally and globally. The RAC L’Taken Social Justice Seminar has been a part of our teen offerings with trip to Washington, DC. Our teens learn about public policy issues and prepare to visit our senators and representatives in Congress.
