Fifth Grade

The major components of the Fifth Grade curriculum are finding or defining a personal relationship with God, Torah and Israel, the Jewish Life Cycle, and Hebrew. The students will be introduced to the fundamental concepts of Judaism and explore the life cycle traditions as an essential link to the Jewish people, past, present, and future. In their study of modern Israel, our students will have several “virtual encounters” with the 5th grade students at our “sister school,” Rabin Elementary in Nesher, Israel. They will continue fluency in decoding, study the order of the service and read and understand the prayers and blessings of the “middle” section of a Shabbat morning worship service.
