The Temple Dor Dorim library is a beautiful facility available to all of our congregants. Our library is accredited by the Association of Jewish Libraries. We are proud of our collection of over 1,300 books for children, middle grade readers, teens and adults. The library offers both fiction and non-fiction books, reference, Judaica, periodicals, CDs and DVDs. New books arrive several times a year keeping us in touch with the most up-to-date titles.
Our Library works closely with the Early Childhood Program and offers weekly story time sessions for all preschoolers. The children become familiar and comfortable with books and the library at a very early age, setting the stage for a love of reading and books throughout their lifetime.
The library and preschool program are run by a group of dedicated volunteers.
Dedicating books for special occasions and to memorialize a loved one helps us to build our library one book at a time. You can dedicate a children’s book for $25 or an adult book for $36. A book plate will be placed in the front of the book with your name and the name of the person you are dedicating it to. Please send your dedications and checks to Temple Dor Dorim, 2360 Glades Circle, Weston, FL 33327 to the attention of the Library Fund.
We welcome new volunteers. For further information please contact Lorelei Ennis, Librarian, at 954-349-4450 or by email.
PJ Library & PJ Our Way
Temple Dor Dorim is proud to be a partner with the Broward Jewish Federation in sponsoring the PJ library program in Broward County. When you enroll in the program, your child (between 6 months and 11 years) will receive free Jewish books and CDs every month. Enroll at pjlibrary.org. Click the PJ Library logo below for more information.
Every month, from the 1st – 10th, kids 9-11 can visit this website to choose a book from a selection of four high-quality titles that have been reviewed by a panel of PJ educators, parents, and kids. That’s 12 free books a year! To make the choice easier, every title offered comes with a synopsis and author bios, ratings and reviews, and video trailers. Kids can also take polls and quizzes, participate in monthly interviews and challenges, and comment on blog posts.
